Dry Rub Seasoning Mix:
1/4 cup salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup black pepper
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. oregano
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 Tbsp. paprika
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. sweet basil
1 Tbsp. ground mustard
1 Tbsp. onion powder
Combine all dry ingredients and set aside. ( This recipe will make more dry rub than you will need, but can be stored in an airtight container in a dark place and can be used for any type of pork that you would like to cook.)
Flip racks of ribs over with bone side up. Start at one end of rack and remove thin membrane that runs across the entire length of the ribs. Pull slowly and the membrane will come off in one continuous piece.
Generously apply dry rub to both sides of racks of ribs -- working into the meat well with fingertips.
Basting Sauce:
2 cups apple cider vinegar
2 cups water
1/2 cup dry rub seasoning mix
Cook 15 -20 minutes over medium heat, basting 4-5 times with a basting sauce. Turn ribs over and repeat.
** When ribs are almost cooked to desired doneness, you may baste with barbecue sauce, if desired.

Looks delicious!! I've never cooked ribs because I really didn't know how to make them taste like they should but my husband loves them. I'm going to try this for sure!!!
my hubby and I are reading this mouthwatering as we see those pictures!! How delicious...perfect for summer! mmmmmmmmmm...
Oh those ribs look delicious!! Interesting they are baked a bit first. The rub sounds delicious!
You must of read my mind! Jimmy and I are trying ribs for the first time this weekend on our new grill and we have no idea how to cook them!!! Plus my future inlaws are coming over too so I want them to be good!!
I'll be making these with your mac and cheese recipe!! Thanks so much for sharing all these great recipes!!!! :)
Lookin good!!! Alvin and I were talking about ribs tonight. We are both rib hungry.....too bad you live so far away!!!
Can I get directions to your house? Ha! Your recipes make me salivate!
Baking them a little bit first makes them cook much faster on the grill than they would. I have also parboiled the ribs for approximately 30 minutes (instead of baking them), then apply the rub and then grill and they are also good that way.
As I said, you can apply barbecue sauce of your choice near the end, if desired, but my family really likes them just plain dry rub with no sauce.
For all of ya'll that are afraid and have never tried ribs, this is an easy way of cooking them that you really can't mess up!
Goodness...I have just been looking over your past few recipes. They all look so DELICIOUS!!!! I love your cooking blog!! :) I am definitely trying that corn on the grill. Mmmmm!
Wow, how yummy. Maybe I'll get back to cooking soon....setting up a new house takes all my energy these days. But ribs...yum!
